Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Originality of Submissions
    All manuscripts submitted to LIGHT International Journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Simultaneous submissions to other journals are strictly prohibited.

  2. Submission Format
    Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format using the journal’s required template. Submissions should be written in clear academic English (British or American style, but not a mixture of both).

  3. Language and Style
    Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from grammatical errors and follows formal academic style. Non-native English speakers are encouraged to have their papers professionally edited before submission.

  4. Submission Method
    Authors may submit manuscripts via the journal's online system or designated email address. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful receipt of the manuscript.

  5. Author Contribution and Declaration
    All listed authors must have contributed significantly to the work and agree to its submission. A cover letter should include a statement confirming:
    • That the manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere
    • That all authors have approved the submission
    • Disclosure of any potential conflict of interest

  6. Editorial Rights
    The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s scope, violate ethical policies, or fail to meet quality standards.

  7. Processing Time
    The average time from submission to initial decision is 4–6 weeks. Authors will be informed of the status of their manuscript throughout the review process.

  8. Publication Charges
    LIGHT International Journal currently does not charge any article processing or submission fees. This policy may change in the future with prior notice.
