Abstract

This article is to analyze the filmImperfect to society's mindset. Apart from being an entertainment medium, films always have a certain meaning that they want to convey to their audience. One of them is the film Imperfect which raises a social issue, namelybeauty privilege, where there are beauty standards in society and slowly make individuals, especially women, become less confident about their physical appearance. This is important to discuss because it will influence people's mindset regarding self-image, and will also influence performance in everyday life. A quality individual is an individual who has a good mindset. The research methodology uses descriptive qualitative with observation and interview techniques. Our observation method was carried out by looking at and analyzing public reviews of the film Imperfect from the applicationreview Credible films ieLetterboxd. For the interview method, we conducted interviews with 2 people, namely a man and a woman to see different perspectives.The results of the analysis show that the respondents are quite influenced by existing beauty standards. However, after watching the film Imperfect, they became more accepting of themselves and realized that beauty or handsome is not only judged by appearance, but from the heart and attitude. The analysis results from observing audience reviews show thatmost of the audience of the filmImperfect leaving a good impression, where most of those who feel the same way no longer feel alone, and also know how to rise from their downturn.
